  • People reach out to me for one-on-one talk-therapy when they are struggling with:

    1. Emotional Dysregulation - emotional detachment (numbness), emotional overwhelm (feeling things too intensely), and anger problems.

    2. Relationship Challenges - problems with trust, connection, and communication.

    3. Impulsive & Compulsive Behaviors - including compulsive sexual behaviors like excessive pornography use.

    4. Difficulties Navigating Life Transitions - such as new living situations, life stages, relationship changes, uncertainties, grief and loss.

    5. PTSD, Stress, Burnout & Trauma-Related Anxiety

  • Certain groups experience unique challenges that require specialized care.

I have extensive training and experience providing culturally competent evidence-based treatment for:

    • Traumatized adults, including those with unresolved childhood trauma, complex posttraumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), and work-related traumatic exposures.

    • Adults with diagnosed cluster b personality disorders, including those with borderline, narcissistic, histrionic, & antisocial personality traits and adaptations

    • First Responders, Public Safety Personnel, & Helping Professionals

    • Forensic populations, including sex offenders

  • With a warm, interactive and practical approach, I provide individual psychotherapy to adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or misunderstood. Often, these challenges are rooted in some sort of unresolved complex trauma.

Since unresolved traumas leave us feeling weak and powerless, treatment centers on restoring safety, choice, and control.

My approach to trauma treatment is grounded in humanistic orientations, while incorporating aspects of DBT, ACT, and Schema Therapy. I also rely heavily on psychoeducation to help you understand what's happening in your brain and why. From there, we collaborate on practical strategies to manage symptoms. Progress comes from both our problem-solving sessions and the supportive nature of the therapeutic relationship.
